Access to Trained Workers

Federal funds are use to train eligible youth and adults, including dislocated workers to prepare them for in-demand occupations in their community. Many of these trainees earn credentials and have gained skills in workplace competencies.

Adult Learning

LTC has a campus at the Job Center that offers a wide variety of learning opportunities for employees to enhance their current skills, learn computer skills, complete their high school degree, improve their ability to speak, read and write English or brush up on the basics. Morning and evening classes are offered for the convenience of working adults.

Apprenticeship Information

Apprenticeship training is available through a partnership between the Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards, technical colleges, employers, employees and unions. Information is available through the Job Center, Lakeshore Technical College or an apprenticeship representative.

Seminars and Workshops

In collaboration with local business groups and other partners, the Job Center sponsors events covering important workforce related topics for recruiting, managing and training employees.
